LoanShout Academy: Deal Dashboard Best Practices

LoanShout Academy
November 23, 2021

Congrats on making it to the final post in the LoanShout Academy initial onboarding series! So far we have looked at:

  1. How to create a Preapproval Dashboard,
  2. Preapproval Dashboard best practices, and
  3. How to create a Deal Dashboard.

Today, we’ll be looking at how to supercharge your Deal Dashboards to turn them into springboards for future referrals. We explain in the video, down to the smallest detail, the best way to utilize your updates to add value and increase brand recognition.

The true essence of the best practices can be distilled into just one sentence so that you can avoid Sean’s blabbering and senseless dad jokes altogether:

Automated updates are helpful, but they become truly “sticky” when they are followed by personalized outreach.

Here’s an example for Day 1 of any contract:

  1. Create Deal Dashboard: Automated email and text go out.
  2. Reply All to the invitation email with a quick note. Example: “Congrats everyone! Looking forward to working with you all. We’ll keep you posted as we move forward!”
  3. Send “Contract Received” update 30 minutes after sending the initial deal invitation.
  4. Optional personalized follow-up.
  5. Send “Title Ordered” update in the next half an hour or so.
  6. Reply All to update email: “Just fired off the title order on this one! We’re moving right along.”
  7. Send “Disclosures Sent” update an hour or two later.
  8. Reply All to the update email: “Just sent disclosures! <<Client Name>> let me know if you’d like to do a screen share so that I can walk you through them. Once we have signatures back, we can proceed with underwriting.” Note: This alone *chef’s kiss* make you look like an insanely dedicated LO.

There ya have it! That’s 6 to 8 helpful points of contact in about 4 hours. Don’t worry about oversharing. Other industries will send you just as many updates about far more mundane and less valuable transactions. Remember, this is a huge deal for everyone involved: it’s nearly impossible to overdo it.

Let us know how you keep your clients and agents helpfully up-to-date. If you have any tips and tricks, drop us a line at We’re always looking for suggestions and feedback in order to introduce new features to our platform!
